Dreams

A week of dreams...

In a dorm room with somebody that seemed to like me, the connecting door to the next room opened. My handsome neighbor came in with his girlfriend, who also seemed to like me. We decided to all go to supper, and then come back and have a party. I was carrying something heavy. The others got ahead of me and I lost track of them. For the life of me, I could not find the cafeteria. I walked across lawns, through buildings, found the football field, a speakeasy full of gangsters, went down a narrow staircase painted different colors, found the bowling alley, and talked to a foreign exchange student that looked like Dick Van Dyke, but nobody could point me the right way, and I was so alone…

She climbed out of the pool and gave me a big, wet hug...

Driving along the mountain pass, I glanced up at the ridge in time to see a couple of softball-sized stones tumble down into the roadway…

Attorneys for the dinosaurs denied any wrongdoing…

Sunlight beamed from the horizon, bathing everything in a bright, cleansing light. Water rushed through the streets of the deserted city. I rode along the wave on a small boat as the current took me through empty intersections. The boat washed up in the front lot of a white porcelain gas station, but I quickly shoved off and got back into the streets as the water flowed out of the city…

The protestors were visible from the bridge. As I turned onto the on-ramp, they lined the road, signs high in the air. I pulled off onto the shoulder to take a picture…

Down through the crowded offices, I thought it would be another interview, but the lady said I got the job…
