Tapestry, aka Tim

I've been with LiveJournal for 15 years. I've posted over 6,800 journal entries, and received almost 22,000 comments. That's a lot, but my relationship with LJ may change very soon.

This article has disturbing news about how the administration of LiveJournal has been moved overseas, and all contents put under scrutiny. Speech may not be as free any more.

It was a shock to discover LJBook is no more. LJBook was a handy service that turned your LiveJournal blog into a .PDF file, with pictures and a table of contents and everything. It's been replaced with BlogBooker, of which I have no experience. I've been using LJBook for years to create handy hard-copy versions of my blog. The world has changed. Things are no longer as easy as they used to be.

I've been increasingly unhappy with LiveJournal, and now I am forced to think about moving my blog (such as it is) elsewhere. Therefore, for the time being, this may very well be my last LJ entry. It is not without a good deal of reluctance. Through good times and not-so-good times, this blog been a place where I could express myself, to say what I think, to be creative. I like to think it's been a place to inform, educate and perhaps entertain viewers... But as comfortable it may be to stay in a bad relationship, there comes a time where one must move on.

And sometimes, moving on isn't such a bad thing.
