A guy in Oregon called 911 to report someone had stolen his marijuana. He called back later to complain when police didn't arrive quickly enough, but it turned out he left the scene, and then he put the dispatcher on hold so that he could throw up. Why, yes, alcohol was involved... *LINK*

Last night's kick-off party was a big success! We had about 15 or so people, and pretty much took over the back room at IHOP. Right at midnight, we all stopped talking and started typing our stories (which got us some funny looks from the other customers). I got some good writing done, got to meet some neat people, and got to eat some mediocre food. I think the story is off to a good start.

Good swordfighting class tonight. Lots of sidesword sparring, with some longsword dueling, as well. Didn't get around to rapier bouting. Speed was pretty good, but gotta work on aim. Missed a couple of times because I was out of range. Got seriously whacked on one finger, too; that'll leave a mark. I think I'll take it easy for the rest of tonight.

Tomorrow I'm helping out at an SCA thing, and then Sunday... the madness of NaNoWriMo begins. (Dun-dun-duuunnnnnnn!)
